RACING LABS LTD ("we", "us", "our") makes 3Edit. We want you to know exactly what data we use, why, and the choices you have.
This policy covers the 3Edit desktop app, our website at www.3edit.com and your web account.
1Who We Are
RACING LABS LTD makes 3Edit and is the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at info@3edit.org.
2How 3Edit Works With Your Data
3Edit is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that builds websites with AI, together with a web account at www.3edit.com for billing, lead generation and downloads.
- Your projects and their code are stored on your own computer, not on our servers.
- With 3Edit Node, the AI runs on your computer, so your prompts stay on that computer.
- With the 3Edit Agent, your prompts and the parts of your project needed for the task are sent to third-party AI model providers to produce the result.
- With your own Claude Code or Codex subscription, the work runs under your own account with Anthropic or OpenAI, under their privacy terms.
3Information We Collect and Why
Your web account. Your name, email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text), your plan, credit balance and account settings. We use these to create and run your account and provide the service.
The desktop app. Your sign-in, and the information the app needs to check your plan and limits and to publish your sites. If you publish on 3Edit hosting, the site files you publish are hosted for you. We also receive a one-way fingerprint of your computer's ID, used only to give free trial benefits once per computer and to prevent misuse. The ID itself never leaves your computer.
Payments. Your plan, purchases, payment status and invoices. Payments are processed by Mollie; we do not see or store your full card details.
Lead generation. Your searches, and the business information we find for you (such as business name, address, phone number, website and rating), which we keep in your account so you can work with it.
Affiliate programme. If you apply, your application details; and, if you are approved, your referral link, the sign-ups and payments it brings, your commission and payout records. If you sign up through someone's link, we record that you were referred by them.
Emails. Your email address, to send account emails (such as confirming your email and resetting your password), billing and trial reminders, and replies to your messages.
Contact and support. Anything you send us through our contact form or by email. When you send one of our forms, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address, only to prevent spam.
Security and technical data. Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and records needed to keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
4Legal Basis for Using Your Data
We rely on these legal bases under UK data protection law:
- Contract: to provide your account, plan, purchases, hosting, lead generation and the affiliate programme
- Legal obligation: to keep payment and tax records and meet other legal duties
- Legitimate interests: to keep 3Edit secure, prevent fraud and misuse, answer enquiries and improve the service
- Consent: where we ask for it; you can withdraw consent at any time
5Your Connected Accounts
You can connect your own Supabase, Vercel and GitHub accounts. You approve each connection on that provider's own screen, and you can remove it at any time.
- Supabase: the 3Edit Agent can read and change your own Supabase projects, and may read database records to do the work you ask for. Organisation and team settings are read-only, and it has no access to your Supabase billing. Before 3Edit changes your database, it makes a backup, and you can restore a backup from the app. It asks before deleting stored files, and checks who can read and write each table after changes.
- Vercel: used to publish your sites to your own Vercel account.
- GitHub: used to sync your projects to your own repositories.
We use this access only to do the work you ask for. If your own database holds personal data about other people, you remain responsible for it, and we handle it only on your instructions.
6Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run 3Edit, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and backend services
- Vercel: hosting for our website and for sites on 3Edit hosting
- Render: hosting for our platform server
- Mollie: payment processing (and Stripe, for payments made before we moved to Mollie)
- Cloudflare: a security check on sign-up that helps stop automated abuse
- Resend: sending our emails
- Google: the business information used for lead generation
- Third-party AI model providers: producing results for the 3Edit Agent and some lead-generation features
We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
7International Transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK, for example in the European Union or the United States. When data leaves the UK, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account, plan and lead-generation data: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you close it
- Payment, invoice and affiliate commission records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires
- Support messages: up to 2 years after we last hear from you
- Security records: up to 12 months, unless needed to investigate misuse
When we no longer need data, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9Cookies and Browser Storage
We use only what 3Edit needs to work. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Sign-in: your signed-in session is kept in your browser's storage so you stay signed in
- Referral: if you arrive through an affiliate link, a cookie (with a copy in browser storage) remembers the link for 45 days, so the right person gets credit
- Security: Cloudflare's security check on sign-up may set what it needs to tell people from automated abuse
- Preferences: small settings such as your chosen theme
You can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings; you will then need to sign in again.
10Keeping Your Data Safe
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and secure, reputable providers, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so if we ever become aware of a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
11Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict or object to how we use your data
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email us at info@3edit.org. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), although we would be glad to help first.
12Children
3Edit is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, email us at info@3edit.org and we will delete it.
13Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as 3Edit changes. When we make an important change, we will tell you by email or in the app. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
14Contact
